Love Letter

Graffiti doesn’t get much credit as an art form, and many cities consider it a nuisance best covered and forgotten. In Philadelphia, however, the Mural Arts Program has created a public art project that celebrates graffiti’s potential to convey positive ideas. The Love Letter Project is a collection of 50 city walls painted by 40 local and international artists, all with messages about love.

The murals, which are all painted to face the Market train, will be completed by Labor Day. The project also encompasses a documentary film, a free month-long sign marketing course, and several books. In Philly, brick walls and spray paint are all you need for a great art exhibit.
