Lagerfeld’s Wallpaper*

Creative talent knows no bounds. Karl Lagerfeld, Chanel’s creative director, photographer, and occasional guest editor, has applied his inventive eye to the October 2009 issue of design mag Wallpaper*. The super sleek book covers interiors, fashion, art, travel, and more for the in-the-know reader, so it seems fitting that its latest cover uses a brand-new paper technology that peels back to reveal a second photograph.

Lagerfeld and designer Philippe Starck collaborated to shoot model Baptiste Giabiconi in a Dior Homme suit which, when peeled, also reveals him in the nude. The pair also edited a significant portion of the issue, handling topics as diverse as European real estate and the meaning of life. This Wallpaper* issue will be out on September 10, 2009.
